Going To The Hospital When Expecting

Written by stevehuna on March 8, 2010

So you are expecting your first baby. Have you prepared for everything yet? I know you have thought about preparing the nursery and taking up Lamaze classes and buy Baby Toddler Shoes as your first pair for your little one. But have you actually prepared on what is to come ahead when you go to the hospital? With the labour pains and the contractions that you experience, you probably would not be able to concentrate in packing your stuff up before heading to the hospital. Your partner will just be as bad in concentrating as you, for he himself will also be very nervous. There is really just one thing you can do: pack your bags before your due date arrives. This will make you feel more relaxed to know that you have everything you need when that moment of labour arrives. Stick a note to the top of your bag to remind you or your partner that it’s missing if you have to take out something you need in the bag before going to the hospital. Bring a comfortable, loose fitting nightie or a T-shirt that you can wear through labour. Expect that this will be covered with fluids when you deliver the baby. Water bottles/sweets/glucose tablets should not be forgotten as well as snacks or drinks you would like to have handy. Lip balm is often forgotten by moms but it is also very important since you will end up with dry lips from all the stress. Your feet also get really cold in the labour room so do not forget to bring socks. A lot of women stay in the hospital for 3 to 4 days after vaginal delivery and if they undergo caesarean section, they stay for 5 to 6 days. Some hospitals allow you a night out with your partner before leaving, so you can pack something prior to this event. Other centers supply baby’s needs while you are there so it’s best to check with them if they have all the requirements necessary before you arrive.

Good luck, and after your safe delivery and a healthy baby, now you can think about where to buy Baby Walking Shoes that you have always dreamed of.
